RPP's Employee Screening Questionnaire (ESQ) was one of the first pre-employment tests to use a forced-choice format.

With the recent release of our ESQ2 nearly a decade later, we still find ourselves among a select few using the forced-choice approach.

Although research, client success, and common sense supports the superiority of SIGMA’s approach, the majority of pre-employment testing companies still rely on out-dated single-stimulus items such as the following:

Comparing the two approaches above, it is clear why the method used in the ESQ outperforms traditional pre-employment tests 2-1. However, don't just take our word for it.

  1. Take some time to read the research supporting our approach and the client successes demonstrating the superiority of the ESQ2.
  2. Take a look at sample questions from another vendor you are considering (or the one that you currently use) and ask yourself:
    1. Do the items have an obvious "right" answer?
    2. Could an applicant "faking good" have a substantial negative impact on the effectiveness of a pre-employment test?
    3. Would it be more difficult to "fake good" on the forced-choice ESQ2 or the pre-employment test(s) you are considering?
